Edmonton is removing all pedestrian scramble intersections from Whyte Ave

The City of Edmonton says it wants to prioritize transit.
What they're doing is prioritizing all vehicle traffic – transit and single-occupant – over pedestrian safety.
They say this decision is not subject to public consultation or engagement, because it's about "safety and engineering". But the decision they've made is to remove the engineering solutions that provided safety in order to get some beep beep go fast.
