Sold out means SOLD OUT

In past years at #yegfringe some tickets would be released just before the show, so you could still get in to sold out shows if you tried really hard and acted fast.

That's not the case this year. There are no last-minute ticket releases. When a show says sold out, all the tickets are gone.
