The bees are sleeping, and you can make sure they wake up alive.
Alberta’s native bees rely on dead leaves on your lawn to protect their nests over the winter. They don’t emerge and move out until temperatures are consistently above 10 degrees celsius.
When you mow or rake, you’re mowing or raking straight through their hopes.
