Michael Janz is one of the hardest working people I know –– to the point where it's a character flaw.
Michael spends his entire life working to make his ward, and Edmonton as a whole, a better place. Whether that's reading and analyzing reports, responding to and talking with constituents, organizing new advocacy initiatives or just reading books to better himself and better understand the world he's dedicated fully to it. He literally never stops working.
This relentless work ethic helps explain the laundry list of things he's accomplished and advocated for in his first term.
That includes thing like:
Protections for renters and a landlord registry
Pushing for police accountability and audits
Support for active transportation and public transit
Stopping sprawl through better zoning and pursuing substantial completion
Supporting climate resilience
Stopping the godamn noisy cars
... and many, many more.
I'm proud to call Michael my councillor, neighbour and friend.
And I hope I can keep calling him that first one for four more years.
